‘…WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO, BUT OUR EYES ARE ON YOU.”

(2 CHRONICLES 20:12)

A very Happy and Blessed New Year to you all!   Wow, 2020, not sure I ever thought I would live to say that – seems almost unreal.  However,  here we are and there is lots of talk of 20 – 20 – perfect vision for this year!  We, ourselves, can not claim to have that perfect vision, but we do know who does and our eyes are certainly focused on Him and are waiting to see what His perfect plan is for us, for our ministry, for our family this year!

We certainly do not pray for another year like last where it seemed we were attached on every side, and yet, we praise God for being there for us and seeing us through, health problems, financial problems, family and ministry problems.  We serve an awesome God and though we do not know why He asks us to go through difficult times, we know that He is in control and we are so thankful that we can trust in Him and know that He has the whole picture and His ways are perfect!

Although we started the first few days of this year off with colds and flues and some minor technical difficulties  ( heating system failure, church leadership problems), we just got word that we are grandparents again – a beautiful girl – Rebeca, born to Dana and Alyn.  We are praying for new birth in the churches where Albert is ministering to as well, praying for hardened hearts to be softened, for the battle of control to be laid aside so that God can move freely in the midst of the gypsy people with whom we work.  The enemy is at work — but- our God is bigger, stronger and there is nothing too difficult for Him – not for our health, not for our finances, not for the technical problems we face, not for the leadership of the churches we minister in, not for the problems in our families  — our eyes are on God – and we know that His 20 -20 vision is seeing all and that He has a plan and will give us wisdom and strength to carry on His work – to live our lives in a way that is pleasing to Him and that His Kingdom would be enlarged and the enemy will be defeated!  Victory is ours – because He is on our side!

Albert has been fairly well health wise although his immune system is so low he catches every cold and flu and then gets them again, but he is getting stronger and is able to sleep much better.  He does not allow his health issues to stop him from preaching – from a wheel chair – from mentoring – from helping where ever he is asked – he continues to push on and do what he can for the Kingdom of God.

Elvira is very busy with home schooling the boys.  We have faced some challenges, especially with Laurentiu who is switching from learning in Romanian to English but has improved greatly in the last 3 months and believe it will only get better!   Elvira continues to do medical work when needed but are thankful that for the time being it is a little quieter than in the past but we never know when the next emergency will arrive!

The children are all doing well – Valentina is adjusting to married life – trying to balance that with university and a part time job, playing in the worship team and getting home from time to time.   Frank and Rita are thrilled with their baby girl – Rahela (Rachel) and the older two are doing well in a private  school and Dana and Alyn are just learning what it means to be ‘parents’.     Canadian children are also doing well but facing many challenges and we ask for prayers for all of our children.

Albert is hoping to start 2 new classes in the Bible School in March.  He will have a 4th year course for those who have already graduated from the school as well add new students to the first year class.   We are getting reports that all Bible Schools in Romania are having difficulties getting students and so we are praying for God to move in hearts so that the church leadership could be trained and teach from His word rather than the traditions which have been passed on down the generations and have been adopted from  the Orthodox and other religions!  We believe we need to make disciples – followers of Jesus and God’s Word – rather than religions!

“… our eyes are on you (God).”
